Superblocks

Superblocks is the design by Marcio Kogan / Studio MK27 inspired by the rationalism of lines, shapes, proportions and materials typical of the Brazilian studio’s work. 

It is conceived as a true piece of architecture, with the storage element in wood or glossy lacquer, available in different finishes, resting on polished Brandy metal blades.
A furnishing piece that is not only decorative, but also functional, designed to blend into different types of environments also thanks to configurations and accessories that adapt to multiple and specific functions.

For example, in the living and dining versions it can accommodate a brushed marble element with a strong identity, designed for storing objects. Another interesting accessory is the refined black saddle-hide cutlery tray, ideal for dining areas. On the other hand, in the configuration designed for the night area, Superblocks presents an elegant jewellery drawer with a screened glass top. 

The extreme simplicity of its design is enhanced by the richness of its details, for a rigorous style that dialogues perfectly with all the shapes in the Minotti collection, from the more linear and clear-cut to the softer, most sinuous ones.

Structure

Support structure in boxed MDF laminated with aluminium, matt black lacquer finish, additional structural tubular metal inside.

Cabinet element

boxed MDF with 45° assembly, 23 mm thick, veneered in:

- brushed ash, Licorice colour lacquer finish;

- ash, open-pore Tobacco colour stain;

- oak, open-pore Honey colour stain;

- palisander Santos*, stained Dark Brown, matt polyester lacquer finish;

- Moka, Granite or Corten colour glossy lacquer finish. The LIVING sideboards mod. ‘D’, ‘E’, ‘ G’, ‘H’, ‘I’ and the DINING sideboard mod. ‘O’, have an upper element in marble with 45° assembly, 20 mm thick, available in brushed Marron Damasco, or brushed Grigio Orobico. The bottom of the element has an extra-clear tempered glass cover, 5 mm thick. All DINING sideboards are accessorized with a cutlery tray in Black saddle-hide. Some of the NIGHT cabinets have an upper compartment with a drawer; the metal compartment has varnished polished Brandy colour finish and the top is a sheet of 3+3 mm Bronze laminated glass with internal copper colour metal mesh. The drawer itself is made of wood and contains a metal jewellery tray, varnished polished Brandy colour finish. The interior of the small and large drawers matches the exterior, for the glossy lacquer version, the interior is in ash, open-pore Licorice colour lacquer finish. The small and large drawers glide on full-extension runners with Blumotion closure, except for the jewellery drawer, which has manual closure. Metal handles, varnished polished Brandy colour finish.
